Read raw manga in your language, and learn Japanese from it

Dajia Translate translates manga and comics right on the page. The original text is erased and the translation is set into the speech bubble, with one click to see the original again. Words in the image can be looked up and saved to your word book.

A manga translator that also helps you learn

Translate in place, then use the same page to pick up the language.

Translate with one click

Hover over an image and click the button, or right-click and choose "Translate this image". For a whole chapter, choose "Translate images on this page" in the popup: images are translated only as they scroll into view, so you don't spend your allowance on pages you never reach. You can also turn on auto-translate for a site you read often.

Translation set into the bubble

The original text is erased and the translation is typeset inside the speech bubble. Click "Show original" to flip back to the original image at any time.

Any area of the screen

Press Alt+Z (Option+Z on a Mac) and drag a box. It works on readers that draw pages on a canvas, on video frames and on anything else you can see, not only on regular images.

Look up the words in the image

Open the "Text" panel for the original lines and their translations side by side. Hover or select a word in the original text to look it up, and save it to your word book with the image as its source.

Private: images are not kept

An image is translated only when you click, or on a site you've turned auto-translate on for. It is shrunk and sent through our server to Alibaba Cloud to read the text, then discarded: we don't store your images or the results.

Free to try, built for daily reading

Free accounts get 30 images a month, enough to try a chapter or two. Pro gets 300 images a day. Image translation needs a signed-in account; the rest of the extension doesn't.

What to expect

Translations are produced by an AI model reading the picture, so very stylized lettering and sound effects can be missed or imperfect. The translation is set horizontally in a system font, and it's meant for your own reading and study. The extension works on common manga and webtoon sites as well as ordinary web pages; use Alt+Z where a site doesn't allow direct image access.
